Description
Art trade with of his character Bedlam. Bedlam is (C) ~Carlito2517I'm very happy with the pose on this one and the face. Still experimenting with how I want to color.

I have little artistic talent, but do enjoy art. Looks cool to me.

thanks. my hands shake too much to create any worthwhile art, and the most I have ever pulled off was a battle scene of stick figures. thanks for understanding.

Very nice, but is she supposed to be a heroine or villainess? I like the picture either way.

She's not my character but I think she is a villainess.

Thanks. It's kind of the way I understood her character as being the "loose cannon" type.

Yeah, I have surprising luck with those "Uber tough and violent women". Besides... as long as she didn't break any bones it'd just be foreplay to me.

The picture is bad because the wolf is so bad, naughty, etc. but the picture is just great!!!

Ah! I understand you now. It has been a long time since I heard someone say "bad" and mean "good". For a moment I though you did not like the picture. Thanks for the compliment.

That's a really awesome pose, I usually have trouble with poses but it looks like you've done it with ease, I think your colouring is pretty cool too, yeah it's a great drawing overall, great job. ^^

Whoa, awesome! You're quite right about her face, it came out wondefully. In fact, the whole thing's awesome! Favorites land, here I come!

Well Thanks very much, Jodimest. You said the shading I did on the Swat Tiger one was pretty good. I tried to do the same method of shading here. What do you think?

jodimest In reply to Eggplantm [2006-04-12 17:37:24 +0000 UTC]
It works well. In fact, it works so well that I think you should adopt it as a sort of standard. The shading's not what stood out to me as the most awesome part of the drawing, however. Her pose seems functional and dynamic, her facial expression just exudes her personality, and her anatomy is excellent. Even without color, it would have been a solid pic, but in its totality it's a very nice piece. Good jorb!

Oh wow, that looks awesome, can't say thanks enough! I'm still working on yours, I've been through about a half a dozen drafts so far, it's hard to get a pose that I'm happy with but I think I finally got one I like. Should be done in the next day or so. Thanks again, I love this piece.

I think the simplest color schemes are the most effective, and you've pulled off something nice here with the black, white and red color scheme. Dark, blood, pure. Brooding, violent, efficient. It really works. Of course you and I both have known for years the psychology behind choosing the right colors.... it's a design fundamental. I'm glad you're pleased with the pose, and well you should.... it looks proportionate and anatomically accurate, her body language speaks volumes about what type of character she is. This is a really solid piece.

Eggplantm In reply to justicefrog [2006-04-12 16:44:57 +0000 UTC]
Thanks, Frog. I did not design the character's outfit so I can't take credit for that but I do agree with you. I recently heard an art professor describe the colors of black, white and red as "visceral" colors in that they are very primal and direct.

Thanks! Took me a while to find a pose for her. I tried to make some kind of action shot and it was like pulling teeth but this picture was drawn pretty quickly. Don't know why.
BTW how's that art trade coming along?

I had to put it (along with a few other projects) on a short hiatus when a bad situation at college started getting worse, but now that the situation has passed (I hope) I'm finally able to get back to everything I plan to have something tangible in a few days.
