Description
Commission work for of his character Dame Freedom. She is also a hybrid of several animals like Lady Liberty. In her case, she is a hybrid of deer, skunk and tiger (tigers get around apparently). Her costume is supposed to be a modern Kunochi (female ninja) outfit. And if that is the case, we need a lot more female ninjas in this world. They are an endangered species and should be preserved. Contact your local ninja clan to see what you can do to get more women wearing outfits like this. Rowr!
BTW the sword is intended to by fashioned from crystal which is why it appears a little transparent. Enjoy!

I was gonna comment about the sword-handle, but apparently someone beat me to it. Other than that, I'd say this pic is flawless.

I can really appreciate the dynamic pose here like someone mentioned above.... There's a steady grace to this character, you can tell how well trained and professional she must be. How could I miss the Mai reference?! The coloring is top notch.... the handle of the sword doesn't quite match up with the blade, but that's a minor nit. So much detail to go through.... there's a fine line between not enough and too much detail, but you've hit it just right

Yeah she practices a lot.
Dame dedicates about 2-3 hours to practice and studying strategy.

Thanks, frog. I'm trying something a little different with the coloring. I'm still using the "darken" and "lighten" brush option in photoshop but I'm not making it all black and white coloring. Seems to work OK. I think you are right about the sword handle though. I was very lucky with that pose. There is really so much going on with this character! Her costume and her voluminous tail make every pose decision a tricky one.

I mean all the details and things to keep track of. Her huge tail is a big visual element to consider as it can add a lot to a pose. Her braids are another in which way the fall and turn. The sashes that hang from behind her are another thing to consider. Like, which way should they turn or move based on what she is doing. That's what I meant.

Nice illustration, very dynamic feet! That tail of hers is wild, too. Plus, that's a rather unique outfit for a ninja.

It seems to be based on Mai Shiranui from the Art of fighting video game. She's the ninja in the red outift and huge breasts that uses fans. thanks, Jodimest.

Thanks. Those braids really took some extra time to draw but weren't too bad to color.

That's cool. I'll be uploading the scrap for Brown Lotus today. I had a productive hour yesterday and drew her out. I'm pretty happy with it.
