Description
Commission for of three of his charactersThe black ram is Wolfram who longs to be a soldier
The white dog is Drift, the town smith and member of the militia.
The black jaguar is Xavier, a noble and a weather mage.
Though the picture shows intense competition, the two arm-wrestling are actually good friends. They just get a little excited sometimes. Xavier acts as referee and pumps up the crowd.
The bull bartender and the rabbit barmaid I just threw in.

Great expressions of concentration on those two...and their friend Xavier's probably taking bets from everyone else in the room. Like the bunny barmaid's face! She's enjoying the display of macho meatheadedness !(but then, so am I!)

Wow. Thanks for the compliment. I don't think I'm that good. I draw anthro OK but my coloring and backgrounds are actually kind of lacking. I would really like to see my work colored by someone with real talent in that area.

I don't know, this is one of my favorite pages in a long time. I love how much you put into one commission. The guys arm wrestling are really struggling and the details of coin and bread on the table along with the grain was nice. i like the turquoise color for the guy in the back. It has a very royal or professor kind of appeal. Besides, the colors are dark and that adds a bit of light. The two extras in the back are great, wonder who gave you that idea.

This is an illustration for an upcoming story in the Metamor Keep shared story universe. ([link] ) The bull is a longstanding NPC character, while the three in the middle are mine. EP added in the barmaid from his own imagination.

Wow! Drift and Wolfram look awesome! I'll admit I have to wonder about the turquoise/cerulean/gold outfit for Xavier, but that's my fault for not mentioning color in his clothes and sword, and I'm not sure how much more grayscale clothing you could get into this picture without throwing it off. Donnie (the barkeep) looks great, as does the barmaid.

Hmm. I kind of like the blues on Xavier. Looks like royalty. Gray clothes on him would make him look like he was done in grayscale or something. Glad you are happy with the commission. Sorry it took so long.

Are you kidding? This is one of the fastest returns on a commission I've ever had, outside of a convention. I won't ask you to redo the colors if you don't want to(I'll adjust the story to match), and next time I'll know to be a bit more specific and suggest a second 'draft' look before proceeding to the finish.

I have not had good luck with other artists in my commissions. I still have one outstanding from 2004, another outstanding from 2006, and another who took my cash and vanished from the face of the earth. You took, if I remember correctly, a couple weeks. I am -impressed-, especially with something of this quality and detail.

Really? I have no idea what kind of turnaround other artists offer but your took a month or two at least didn't it?
Specific instructions on the clothing and all colors help. Even eye color. What we can do in the future (and you'll have to remind me) is I can send you a pic where I have laid down all the base colors to make sure you like them. I don't usually do that but it is no big deal.
