Description I think this counts as anthro even though it is supposed to be a werewolf. At least the way I draw them.

Allright. I had so many people comment on this character having "10 pack abs" that I had to go and check to see if I had really drawn this so inaccurately and after looking up a couple of anatomy charts I discover... they were right.

The human body has four pairs of abdominal muscles. the lowes pair are the longes and extend to the groin. So, yes this guy was originally drawn with an extra pair of abs that aren't there now. I fixed it. And I won't make that error again.

Nice job here! I'm kind of a sucker for werewolves and this is a pretty cool rendition of one. I like the steely concentration in his face- you get the feeling that he's in control of himself but fully aware of the ramifications of being a werewolf.

I think they look somewhat better now, simply because most people think of the 'six pack' as being six muscle groups, since few people are defined enough to show the others. Perhaps the criticism stems from familiarity rather than study, but when the eye sees something as wrong it is very hard to convince it otherwise.

Plus, if it's any consolation, you're a much better study of anatomy than I. For one, I look at what you did on his arms (and almost all of your male characters) and marvel at how easy you make it look. I can never seem to do that!

Thanks Jodi. I think this was a learning experience. There is still a lot of anatomy that I'm just winging really. A lot of the leg musculature and back musculature for one. I can get by but I'm far from having a really good handle on it.

The customer wanted it looking more like a hero than a monster so that is why I did that expression on his face.

I've gotten a lot of comments about the abs being odd. Do you see anything really off about them?

Oh yeah, he definitely looks more anthro than what a Werewolf is usually depicted as.

That's fine. I can draw a monstrous werewolf but I did not think that was what the customer wanted.

I wouldn't say it's far off, exactly, I'd just say it looks like he's got ne more pair of muscles than he should have. Slightly odd.

It looks cool that way, i am in the army and some of the other soldiers around me go to the gym all the time and thats all they talk about.
