Description
This is page two of two of a comic for of his characters Daniel Yote and Natalya who I've drawn several times.Previous
See, just a game but a rough game played between two mercenaries who started out as enemies, became rivals and then became... rivals with benefits? It's complicated.
Hope you like it. I'm in comic mode now and there's lots more coming.

Ooooh, Daniel, you really shouldn't make a woman angry when you're blindfolded and tied to a chair...

True, true. The LAST thing ANY guy wants to do is piss off a woman.

Also, I can't stress how much I love this! You'll have more chances to draw these two in the future too, provided you're still open for stuff

These guys were dead solid enemies for a while (Even though Yote has always had a crush on her), They became friendlier toward each other after Yote saved her from a bunch of terrorists who captured her. Now they're pretty much married. This is how they keep things interesting, and keep their skills sharp in the process

Poor Daniel. Serves him right for making that sort of "last request" though I love his expression in panel six, and Natalya's in panel seven.

Quite the funny guy there. Crossfire has a similar, if not the same, nature. And of course, he doesn't know he's going to get it even hotter, with the familar sound the she-wolf is making.
LOL. Short, but funny and strong. I think I also see some improvement in your overall comic style. Much more crisp resulting in a better appearance.
Question off topic - For Multiply, Screen and Overlay, what good is linking the three layers, and what sort of brush do you use to get the effects needed? I do not mean the opacity levels though, but the kind of brush you use.
I might have figured out the brush type for Screen, but for Multiply and Overlay, not yet.

Eggplantm In reply to KingLigerion [2010-05-25 15:19:54 +0000 UTC]
I use the same brush for everything but I use a tablet which responds to my pressure for opacity and diameter so it might be difficult for you to get similar results. Check out some of the options for your brush. You have a newer version than I do.

KingLigerion In reply to Eggplantm [2010-05-26 10:02:05 +0000 UTC]
That is correct. I forgot about that. Well to be honest, I already figured out that Brush Type number 4 is very similar to the one how you do the Screen effects. Overlay I also get. Multiply is still a mystery.
A few questions though. What for tablet do you use, since I have one myself (Its Wacom something, forgot the name)and any recommendations where to apply Multiply the best on a character? More, can I just use the color Black for Multiply, for everything I need to shadow?

Eggplantm In reply to KingLigerion [2010-05-27 14:06:53 +0000 UTC]
I have a tablet by Wacom as well.
I apply the multiply to one side of everything to make a shadow. Pick where your light is coming from and put multiply on the opposite side.
Black can work for multiply depending on some things. If you are in a dark setting with hard shadows then black is fine but if your are in a place with a lot of ambient light such as the beach then black is too dark and you should use a darker shade of whatever color you are working on.

Does places of light, also include space-themes? As for the tablet, I have a Wacom Bamboo One.

Eggplantm In reply to KingLigerion [2010-05-27 14:59:57 +0000 UTC]
Not necessarily. Just where the primary source of light in the room is coming from. I generally pic the light as coming from one side of the character and above their heads though that is often not the case. If the room has several lights on the ceiling, then a slight shadow on the underneath of the character is all that suffices

KingLigerion In reply to Eggplantm [2010-05-27 15:07:38 +0000 UTC]
Right, so is the light artificially created by you, or is already there? This might be a question of obvious answer.
The greatest though, is what the linking of layers is for.

I link layers so that if I move something with my cursor, everything moves with it.
