Hem, this was thought as a t-shirt or mug concept-Just a little thought how we should look at our Jesus if he lived today. He was not educated, he talked as if he was a prophet and righteous among men. What would you think of the guy next door if he started some sect and worshipped self sacrifice! That's crazy, isn't it?
But still Jesus made the world rumble. Isn't that great? He had lots of influence on people. But hey, how many followers do you think he had? Perhaps 500, perhaps 1000 - Perhaps as many as you people here on DA have +watchers!
As a matter of fact, you can be your own Jesus. And in the future you will change the world, if not the world, then your world
I guess I could babble more about this, but I have to focus on the actual picture. The main intention with the pic is just to demilitarize certain personalities who have got too much attention. I mean, there are many others...

.As for the technical, I must admit I'm not experienced with this kind of style/work. This is not vectors, which probably would be the best to work with. I've been interested in doing things like this for a while though.

I never get tired of strong, iconic images, and to see such a familiar pose with an opposite symbolicism is nuttin' but cool. However, I would like to see you work some more on this piece, and see some other versions, perhaps?

Well, you certainly achieved a very modern look for the Saviour of man, I must say. Although you're inexperienced with this technique, I still think it turned out pretty well. Odd that you chose him as a subject though, but thank you, because I'm taking this picture as a sign to stick to the faith.

well he would probably be working in construction and sipping his beer. Just looking at the design aspect of this piece. Why is his right arm sleeve on the top black while on the opposite arm side its white? I like that halo/clothes effect. Did use use a gradient tool for the hallo or paint in the gradiation urself? And what color t-shirt would you use?

i used layer styles for the gradient effect. as for the sleeve. i didnt bother light source that much since the whole thing was supposed to be whity and ink. i guess the blackness came from the piece of cloth he wears over his left shoulder.
hmm.. the tshirt color would be easiest to do white or beige, but it happened not to be my color. we'll see

I love how you've weaved the coat and the halo together.
The blood looks a bit funky in my opinion though. maybe it could somehow blend into his clothes. I don't know.
