This piece surprised the hell out of me. I opened up Photoshop to just doodle around, and in literally around 5-6 minutes, I made the lineart for this picture, and I said "woah... this is pretty damn good for like 5 minutes. I better color it." So I did some experimenting with new color variations and this was the result. The rotar was halfassed because I wanted to get it done... and half because I didn't know how I was going to make it look decent... but I think it turned out pretty damn good for a 5 minute lineart.Gyro Man is my favorite robot master, by the way.

I don't think that the rotary blades look bad, but I think that they would be uh.. better positioned if they were to tilt along with the curvature of his back. (How you made that blade look so freaking real, I'll prolly never know or understand, nice going there) Regardless tho, this is wicked awesome! He really has that cool sense of mid flight motion happening, eh?
I liked Gyroman a lot as well. I think that my favorite Robot Master was MetalMan, tho, he had a sweet design, back in the day, kind of like a chainsawing ninja. Gyro was cool for the fact that he was a propeller based robot, I'm all for flying and he made it look real stylish with his mid-air stops and dive bombing. He also had a sweet song playin' in his stage, too.
I always feel bad for having to destroy him, especially in The Power Fighters game. Nyoo, Gyro, why, whyyyy? Don't die on me.

Yeah that's basically why I don't like it... I couldn't figure out how to curve it corectly. All I did was draw a slightly motion blurred propeller blade, and then applied a radial blur to it.

to achieve the tilt effect on the rotor, you might try using "Distort" or "Skew" under "Transform..." I think if you just move the lower left and upper right corners in a little closer to the center, you'll get the angle you're looking for. play around with it a little, see if it helps.

Even so, the fact that you executed a neat idea like that and kept in the colors of his propeller (black and white on each blade, making it that much more convincing looking) astounds my simple mind.
(Ah, so that's how it's done. With PS, you can do just about anything, there's gotta be a way to tilt that blade effect, somehow)
The blade takes nothing from your drawing of Gyro himself, it only added a neat additional touch of power to the design, I think.
