Description
Acrylic on canvas, 12"x42" totalMy first conceptual piece. I am so used to doing realism that this was a relief to not have to worry about perfection. It came so easily! It took a total of 6 hours of work, throughout a couple of weeks. Only 1 brush was used for the whole thing, with the exception of a small brush on the feather details.
This painting was a commission from a family friend. It is a tribute to her late son and his tragic passing. The piece is titled "Freebird" after him and a very popular song. The wings are a blend of eagle wings with a little bit of 'angel' flare. This is my pride and joy piece of work at the moment

You did great! And even if you didn't plan to be perfectionist, there's a lot of symmetry and tone balance. Your client must be so happy with it and they must feel better loking at this when they remember their son.

My client LOVED it! She actually started crying, which really touched my heart. Things like that reassure me why I do commissions

I love it! Especially since you've put it into a 3-piece sectioning.
