I remember typing in some name of a obakemono into google and seeing this picture come up in images, on a japenese website, but couldn't find the Artist. It's nice to finally meet you, and thrilled to hear about this 'illegal bible' project (Although I bet I won't be able to purchase it in England :[ ) Good luck!

Awesome, this reminds me of the "Tomie" movies (never read the manga, though) and like SaylaMarz said at first I thought it was just a misty ghost and *then* I noticed there was something a bit odd about the "shadow"...

Interesting, at a glance, I thought he (of the severed head) was in tact, but fading to nothing like a ghost, or dust in the wind. It's the way the water-person's wrist and forearm follow the line that would be his chest. A very aptly appropriate illusion.
I love the eery colours on the water person, the way the eyes pop from the darkness, creating a monstrous visage.
