Description Figured it was time to post Aslynn's reference for all the world to see hehe she was designed by the ever so talented lunarblues (reference is drawn by her of course)

Aslynn is among the first set of characters that I decided to really delve into, body, mind and soul. I had this idea that would not leave me alone. I think I went through two other characters whose idea was very very similar to hers, but just didn't seem to mesh quite right with me. So you could probably imagine my excitement when LunarBlues gave life to the idea I had. (And I still can't stop staring and awwing and ahhing at that reference!)

This is a very basic outline of her character. For those wondering about what happened to her 'lover' I'll give you a (kind of) short overview of her history:

Aslynn was among the first equines created, back when the Gods and Goddesses did not hide away in their voids and intermingled with their creations. Aslynn was, as well as most others, enraptured with the Gods/Goddesses and she followed them around wherever she could. On her fifth birthday the Goddess of Life gave her a gift of Immortality after seeing how devoted Aslynn was to them. Only a select few ever got given gifts from the Gods and this would begin the cycle of devotion and blessings. Aslynn's body would never grow old and she was simply overtaken by joy that she might spend forever at the Gods and Goddesses sides. Of course, times change. As new generations came, the devotion from the Gods creations were growing less and less. Eventually the Gods would stop coming to this plane, but would give blessings to few who remained devoted and often cursed others. A war eventually broke out between those who did not believe the Gods were real and those who believed that they were. It was a terrible time, but of all the things Aslynn would fall in love with a non-believer. This non-believer was very intelligent and very skilled with creating various toys and trinkets. He created deadly weapons for his army, but much preferred to invent less dangerous things. His skilled hand and charming wit would win her over and one day Aslynn decided she would take him to see the Gods. She wanted him to show him that they were in fact real and was certain they would appear for her. After a little convincing the inventor followed her.

Little did she know how much of a mistake that was. When Aslynn called for the Gods and Goddesses it appeared at first that they would not come and as they began to turn their backs, Aslynn's heart heavy a crack of lightning shot through the sky and struck the ground in front of them. From the sparks the Goddess of Death appeared, a strangely cruel Goddess who liked toy with her creations. She was not impressed that Aslynn had brought her a non-believer and would not listen as she tried to explain to the Goddess why she had brought him. Even to this day Aslynn was never certain of Death's intent, whether it was simply malice or that the Goddess was perhaps bored and wanted to amuse herself. Either way she lay a curse on the both of them, for the non-believer... A deathless death. Before Aslynn's eyes the Goddess burnt away her lovers flesh, marking his bones with ancient, binding runes and chained his legs to the earth where he would remain for the rest of time. A pile of bones stranded that would never enter the earth, never degrade, never grow old. They would just be forever locked in that time and moment. The earth around his feet burnt where grass would never grow. The binding runes on his bones would keep away any predators, or those who were too curious for their own good. Then the Goddess would smile and say, "let your immortality be your curse." But would end up giving her one extra gift (though it might have been the residue magic from her lovers curse that effected her), the ability to feel everyone's pain, everyone's inner darkness and be open to things she would forever wish she could shut off. Aslynn found the strangely beautiful funeral mask in her lovers workshop and would wear it in the hopes she could ward off the darkness.

And yea that's it. Haha I'm hoping to create some more references like this with the rest of my 'main' characters.

Thank you to perfectperfection for the super beautiful reference template! It's so versatile and nice to work off of.
