Description This was for my summer project for school. Since I'm in the Arts and Communications Academy of my school, one of our assignments was to make some sort of art piece based on a book we've read. I did mine based on Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass.

I'm sorry for the horrible quality... It's too big for me to fit on my scanner. I love this though and I just had to submit it; It looks so much better in person >.>

Anyway... Since you can't really see any of it, I'll describe it to you!

Top left corner: King and Queen of hearts. The king has a baby face glued to where the card's face would be and the queen has someone sticking out her tongue.

Bottom left corner: It's a tree, with a clock at the top, a face, and a key hanging off of one of its branches. The key goes to the lock that's on the girl's face.

Bottom right corner: It's Alice (but not reaaallly...) with a lock on her face. The lock is supposed to be her brain, but that was sort of hard to convey, and I just stuck it on her face. Hoorah. The text around her says this: "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." and on the other side: "How do you know I'm mad?" Said Alice. "You must be," Said the cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here." There's a Stop Sign and a Go Sign (No such thing!) to her right. And, finally, arrows coming out of her head.

Top right corner: Scrabble pieces spelling "Odd" And the rest of the arrows. The arrows are pages from the book... so they say stuff. Yeah.

The background was done with paint and a credit card. Some of the things are pictures, some are from a magazine, and some are game board pieces... That's about it.

Longest description I've ever written.

Edit (July 6th, 2008): I stepped on this the other day and ripped it into pieces. It's now in the trash. I'm very sad because I liked it a lot.

Very intriguing and unique concept in this heavily turbulent and twisted picture. You certainly captured that aspect in Alice in Wonderland very well.

Wow. You really are developing your own style. I am guessing in 6 years you will have a gallery in NYC.
