- April 2018 -I came across my iPad notes doodles, and a few were worth posting. It's not a great software to draw on, not really what Apple intended it to be used for. Regardless, I have some scribbles to share.
Fortunians are empaths, relying primarily on their sense of emotion for social interaction. Their perception is strongest when making physical contact with the object or individual they're sensing. Thus, conversation between fortunians may involve this cuddly looking behavior. It's a common practice among friends, couples, and even close coworkers.

My planes rarely touch each other, they only touch when requested or granted permission or due to special reasons. Certain planes like Cruz hate touch entirely and avoid touch. When my planes talk, they do not gesture. My planes also do not make eye contact

It is highly unusual for fortunians to avoid physical contact. However, it can occur. Denver, for example, is very distant in social situations and is often reclusive. He's also prone to intimidating other fortunians and humans to keep them away.

I wonder how they will interact with Cruz.... He has very little empathy and few emotions. He is a plane of logic.

First meeting him, they'd keep their distance (simply because they do not know him well). They would soon figure out that he's not a fortunian and would likely interact with him in a more distant way than they do with each other.

Cruz has a scribe pad for communicating with mouthless planes. He can also chat via airband. I assume your specis will likely chat with mine via airband.

They could talk VHF on airband, or they could simply speak allowed through their vocal speakers.

How does he talk to humans? Or, are there humans?

For humans within the plane they talk to them via the headsets or via the PA.They talk with humans outside them via VHF bia walkit talkies used by the ground crew.
