Just read the stories: Sign me up for the jet fuel 'fireworks'! Is jet fuel easy to ignite once spilt considering that the fuel needs to atomise to ignite?

I've only flown birds which run on avgas, but jet fuel is essentially kerosene- it does need some form of impact or intense temperature to ignite, but when it does, it'll go up very hot and fast.
