Of course you can but using 3d Coat is easier because you can paint directly onto your model:

so the maps here are only 3 which is specular diffuse and normal maps , what about ambient occlusion and gloss maps ? there are too many types of other maps too how do you decide which ones to use ?

The AO map was baked into the diffuse.Gloss maps im not a real fan of so I don't use em.
I usually stick to the basics. You can get everything you need from Normal/Spec/Diffuse maps.Though I have been doing a lot more things with only Diffuse maps. You get so much more control over your textures.

She's just so fine... I could totally see her as the Black-Ops chick you fight in the warehouse during the "Apprehension" Chapter of Half-Life... only she'd win.

really nice...still cant believe its low poly.....could you,PLEASE PLEASE show me an insight, probably an tutorial somewhere on texturing? it will help me a lot, cause is something I always assume its an work of geniuses....I am sick of rendering different materials and compose them in PS,,,I want textures goddammit ...lol....I am an noob at texturing,I can polypaint, but it seems that its not the same thing.
This will give me the missing link.I understand the concept,I mean working on the uv render, but I don't think thats all....even when I try in photoshop,to paint the textures over the diffuse map wirh polypaint...all gets ugly.
so please again,an link,an tutorial explaining the basics and maybe some advanced features in texturing will make my day,my year and my decade.
Thx

Thanks man and it takes practice but honestly texturing a 3d model is easier to me then painting a 2d image. The shapes are already there ya know, all you gotta do is paint on em' and voila.

Love the advertisement for polycount!
This is just freaking amazing. I want you to know that. I love how low the tri count is.
Just curious, was it being used in a game? I never found that out.

Thanks so much, the model was actually for a character art test so unfortunately she will probably see no in-game action u__u
