Description Made this just for fun - a more 'realistic' version of the RX-1 Slayer assault rifle from OCEAN
Fun fact: originally, it was supposed to be OTs-14 'Groza' in its place, but then I've decided all the guns would be fictional

Haha, thank you! And yeah, it's a great timekiller

Huh. I thought it was bigger, this seems like a largish SMG more than anything.

Well, you can consider it an act of veeeeeeery subtle satire towards the modern-day minituarization of everything And yep, that satire was my intention

In contradiction, I love big guns. The bigger the better. Unless it looks ugly. Like my A2c-H, it's almost a machine gun.

Heh, well, I love bulky guns, too; if you take a second look, the Slayer is actually the most 'elegant' firearm in OCEAN; even the handgun is larger and heavier-looking (at least the 'holding' sprite)

Snowy-Aegis In reply to EinhanderZwei [2014-08-20 00:28:33 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. Heh, the VoHSAR, even, is just under a meter long, they're practically full-auto marksman rifles, built for accuracy and damage, not firerate and firerate.

EinhanderZwei In reply to Snowy-Aegis [2014-08-21 01:12:13 +0000 UTC]

Heh, also the 'elegance' of OCEAN weapons is easily explained by the location itself - Svetlana may have giant bewbs, but she's not actually silly; she was always aware that putting .50 caliber guns to the Oberon-1 armories isn't the smartest idea ever. That's also why the Railgun and Harpoon gun have relatively decreased damage compared to how railguns and rocket launchers are usually portrayed in games

Ha. The Vanguard apparently went in the opposite direction completely, they have a sniper called the 'Trisni' which snipes whoever you shoot it at three times in quick succession.

Well, in your case, even if a rogue projectile hits a window, making everything get depressurized, the characters won't mind that because they all wear full body armor sets. Unlike Sean and the gang...

I'd say "And who's fault is that?" but to be fair its still the 21st Century, while Vanguard is the 101st Century.

EinhanderZwei In reply to Snowy-Aegis [2014-08-22 09:00:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeah... it's the fault of the circumstances; pretty much the same thing as John McClane running around barefoot in Die Hard 1

What do you do with your hands. Like it's it a pistol err?

EinhanderZwei In reply to RustyNaps [2014-08-19 18:25:07 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's designed in such a way that you can use the ammo magazine as additional grip. Notice how Sean does that ingame:Β fav.me/d7urjqy

Ah I see. That's cool. I imagine you could reload it quite quickly.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EinhanderZwei In reply to RustyNaps [2014-08-20 04:26:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that was the whole idea (even though OCEAN doesn't have separate magazines for weapons)

RustyNaps In reply to EinhanderZwei [2014-08-20 05:36:16 +0000 UTC]

I like not having clips. Reloading is a bit cumbersome when you are being bombarded from all sides.Β

Yeah, I always hated this feature, even though it was featured in my #1 and #2 FPSes of all time (Marathon 2 and Duke Nukem 3D), haha! It's relatively easy to implement in (G)ZDoom, but I've consciously decided not to

Good. Can't tell you how many times in Dead Space because of "reloading".

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EinhanderZwei In reply to RustyNaps [2014-08-21 11:33:41 +0000 UTC]

Heh, I don't mind reloading in survival horror games like Dead Space or Resident Evil - after all, it adds suspense (even though it's a cheap way) and makes you feel unsafe and uncomfortable

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RustyNaps In reply to EinhanderZwei [2014-08-21 17:58:58 +0000 UTC]

Well Dead Space 1 I didn't have a problem with reloading because monsters were slow and came in small numbers.

In dead space 2 though... Monsters were too quick and over abundant for poor Clarke. I died many times because of slow reloads vs fast monsters. Many times I wanted to punch the monitor but had to restrain myself.

EinhanderZwei In reply to RustyNaps [2014-08-22 08:58:42 +0000 UTC]

Got me there I've played only DS1, and like you said, reloading wasn't too annoying in it. I have DS2 on Steam, but my current PC is way too weak to handle it (well, it's weak for DS1 either, but I have it on PS3 as well). But I'm looking forward to play DS2 anytime soon, because from what I've heard of it, at times it's even better than the original

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RustyNaps In reply to EinhanderZwei [2014-08-22 17:53:53 +0000 UTC]

DS2 is the best of the series but it has even larger problems than the first. DS2 will randomly become extremely difficult when it is not needed so if you're planning on doing zealot difficulty runs you might have to tone it down to normal in a lot of places.

EinhanderZwei In reply to RustyNaps [2014-08-23 22:11:02 +0000 UTC]

Heh, alright I'll keep that in mind Whenever I get a more powerful PC, Dead Space 2 would be the first thing I'll beat on it (if I don't get a disc for my PS3/X360 earlier xD)

Alright! Oh and another pro tip. Leapers will be your main threat since they buffed their speed, numbers and damage DRASTICALLY. So stasis it as fast as possible.

But it's such a fiery little hellcat of bullpup dooooom! xD

Still, this thing's looking pretty neat, too~
