Woodstock - Go ride the musicWelcome everyone! I wrote this article to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Woodstock! You will find here a song performed during this iconic music festival, exactly fifty years ago at the moment I post this journal. I also offered, two weeks ago in this journal, to feature here a deviation of anyone who wants to be feature, with in mind Woodstock as an optional theme! I hope that I forgot no one, and that I didn't make too many mistakes! (Article written with Eclipse, it may looks a bit different with the old dA version.)More informations and lyrics of the song at the end of this article. Plus d'informations et les paroles de la chanson à la fin de l'article, partiellement traduit. The song: Wooden Ships, by Jefferson Airplane, performed at Woodstock on August 17, 2019, around 8:35 am. (on a Sunday morning!)If the video below is blocked in your country, I hope you will have more chance here: Same song in two part, part one and part two .Same song, also performed at Woodstock, by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (CSNY), here .And now, please start the video and listen to the song while watching the deviations! HHuldratized! Starring DinaMNealey"There's someone out there." Amanda's eyes wereTThe Cloud and the MoonWhen a cloud appears before the moon

Thanks again to the 84 deviants who participate in this project! A big thanks to the ones who help me promote this project. My apologies to the ones who discovered the invitation after the deadline. I launched the idea a bit late, and I improvised a little. Merci encore aux 84 deviants qui ont participé à ce projet! Un grand merci à ceux qui m'ont aidé à promouvoir ce projet. The participants in this project could choose the deviation to be featured, or let me choose it. In this case I had in mind keywords that make me think of Woodstock or the specific song featured in this article. These keywords were: Les mots-clés que j'avais à l'esprit en choisissant les déviations:Peace, Love, Flowers, Music, Summer, Nature, Psychedelic colours, Frienship, Freedom, Happiness, Meeting people, Morning, Ocean... Most of the time, I was listening to the song while selecting the pictures or poems. Sometimes I simply choose things that I like, since the theme was optional. Le plus souvent, j'écoutais la chanson tandis que je sélectionnais les images ou les poèmes. Le theme étant optionnel, parfois j'ai simplement choisi ce qui me plaisait. I turned fifty in 2019, and I found it cool, as a music lover, to be born the very year that the famous Woodstock Music Festival took place, in 1969. I don’t know that much about this event, so the informations below about Woodstock and the song Wooden Ships are from Wikipedia.Woodstock was a music festival held August 15–18, 1969, which attracted an audience of more than 400,000. it was held at Max Yasgur's 600-acre dairy farm in Bethel, New York, 43 miles (70 km) southwest of Woodstock.Thirty-two acts performed outdoors despite sporadic rain. It has become widely regarded as a pivotal moment in popular music history, as well as the definitive nexus for the larger counterculture generation. The influx of attendees to the rural concert site in Bethel created a massive traffic jam. To add to the problems and difficulty in dealing with the large crowds, recent rains had caused muddy roads and fields. The facilities were not equipped to provide sanitation or first aid for the number of people attending; hundreds of thousands found themselves in a struggle against bad weather, food shortages, and poor sanitation. Yet, in tune with the idealistic hopes of the 1960s, Woodstock satisfied most attendees. There was a sense of social harmony, which, with the quality of music, and the overwhelming mass of people, many sporting bohemian dress, behavior, and attitudes, helped to make it one of the enduring events of the century.List of performances and events at Woodstock festivalWooden Ships is a song written and composed by David Crosby, Paul Kantner, and Stephen Stills, of which versions were eventually recorded both by Crosby, Stills & Nash and by Jefferson Airplane. It was written at the height of the Vietnam War, a time of great tension between the United States and the Soviet Union, nuclear-armed rivals in the Cold War. Both Jefferson Airplane and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young performed the song in their respective sets at the 1969 Woodstock Festival. However, the CSNY performance is better-known, as it was included in the film and first album from the festival. Jefferson Airplane's performance – which ran to over 21 minutes in length and included several extended jam sections – remained unreleased until the 2009 Woodstock Experience set. The words of the song depict the horrors confronting the survivors of a nuclear holocaust in which the two sides have annihilated each other. A man from one side stumbles upon a man (or woman, as in Jefferson Airplane's version) from the other side and asks him/her, "Can you tell me, please, who won?" Since the question has no real meaning in the circumstances or even at all, it is left unanswered. To stay alive, they share "purple berries" (iodine pills, which protect against radioactive iodine-131 in nuclear fallout). As the wooden ships, devoid of metal that would become radioactive from neutron activation, are carrying the survivors away from the shores, radiation poisoning kills those who have not made it aboard.Lyrics If you smile at me you know I will understand Cause that is something everybody everywhere does In the same languageI can see by your coat my friend that you're from the other side There's just one thing I got to know Can you tell me please who won You must try some of my purple berries I been eating them for six or seven weeks now Haven't got sick once Probably keep us both aliveWooden ships on the water very free and easy Easy you know the way it's supposed to be Silver people on the shoreline leave us be Very free and easySail away where the mornin sun goes high Sail away where the wind blows sweet and young birds fly Take a sister by her hand Lead her far from this barren land Horror grips us as we watch you die All we can do is echo your anguished cry and Stare as all you human feelings die We are leaving You don't need usGo and take a sister by her hand Lead her far from this foreign land Somewhere where we might laugh again We are leaving You don't need usSailing ships on the water very free and easy Easy you know the way it's supposed to be Silver people on the shoreline leave us be Very free and goneGo ride the musicGo ride the musicGo ride the musicGo ride the music It has been very pleasant and inspiring to select the deviations for this project. I visited the gallery of deviants from nearly 30 different countries. I discovered many kind of artworks, of many styles, and even when I already knew the artist, it was fun to try to choose a deviation according to the theme. For the ones who suggest their own deviation for this project, it was interesting to see what they have in mind when thinking about Woodstock. I hope you too will discover deviants you did not know with this article!
Song of Gratitude, Part 4Song of Gratitude
(Part 4: The Plants)
Now we turn toward the vast fields of Plant life.
As far as the eye can see, the Plants grow, working many wonders.
They sustain many life forms.
We honor and thank all the Food Plants we harvest from the garden.
Since the beginning of time, the grains, vegetables, beans, fruits and berries
have helped the people survive.
Many other living things draw strength from them as well.
With our minds gathered together, we give thanks and look forward
to seeing Plant life for many generations to come.
