Their fittings remind me of some quartz crystals found here. Of course, the soil in this region is a basalt decomposition.

The basalt columns certainly resemble quartz crystals in away

( though basalt NEVER contains quartz crystals )

Well, you're the geologist ... but near here we have decomposed basalts, some hills rich in vesicles filled by quartz in different forms (minerals of the zeolite family and sporadically, calcite). Most of them are transparent crystals but eventually we can see some pinkish shades. I was delighted to see them scattered on the ground ... where they broke the rocks to construct roads.
