Ha - did you also check the link?
Thank you, dear LΓΊcia.
What do you think about the white frame here? I even thought of making it a bit bigger, because the "signature" looks a bit squeezed to me

m-lucia In reply to EintoeRn [2010-04-26 16:15:41 +0000 UTC]
yes, I checked the link - très belle gare...!
I like the white frame, it suits the composition quite well but I don't think it should be bigger than the largest black line, so it seems ok to me! (besides, I prefer discreet signatures
)

A lovely simple geometric pattern...like brick laid out on a garden path.
Gare de La Rochelle, you say? A skylight of frosted glass to let in the mid-day sun? Does this repeating pattern cover the entire roof?

and good morning, Yvette - coffee finished, ready for the bath, not ready for the office
Well, yes first walk around the city after arrival on Saturday night, and also yes, it is a sort of skylight which is found in large parts of the entrance hall of the central station.

It is renovated, from sandstone and a sort of art deco style I should say
And now looking at the wikipedia entrance I believe I should have returned for more camera exercises

Interesting building (thank you for the link). I love the architecture. The peaked glass-paned roof is very much "fin de siècle" in style.
Enjoy your day (as much as you can for returning to work).
