PLEASE - do not hesitate to also read the most entertaining
poem that wrote for this picture !!!
One bale of hay
One bale of hay said to the other, say,
What sort of thing is that far over head?
A second bale, enjoying such a day
As this with sun and warmth, just sighed and pled
His ignorance and turned away to dry
A dewy patch of green that still was damp.
So Al accosted then another guy—
He had to shout to Sid, as dumb as hemp,
But Sid took up the cause and rolled a ways
To take a glance far up the grid of steel
With wires curving down. A longer gaze
Revealed not much—no motion, sound or feel.
It doesn't move, I think it's broken, Sid
Told Al. The electricity is dead.

What a great shot!
The colours and the "haziness" of the power cables give an intense feeling of overwhelming heat.
Wow! Es ist noch schöner als ein Donaudampfschiffkapitänkappe!

..I've seen lots of cylindrical hay bale pics before - and lots of marching hydro poles - but never together ! ~ a smashingly good composition here old chap !

truth is that I didn't take a single shot in August so far. So I got up early and not very far. And not a minute too early, as the farmer was collecting the hay bales at rapid speed
Whatever. Thanks a lot Douglas !
it is difficult to pass this row of poles without giving them a try

It's a huge contrast ofcourse, but what fireworks in a thunderstorm.... those festooned cables would creak, break free, and lash in all directions! That would make a great picture too, don't you think
Excellent as it is, though It's too hot to do anything much here too - your dedication is admirable - getting up so early at the weekend!.....

Hi, Paula ! It HAD to been done. I had not been taken a single shot in August up to today ! And now it is 37C outside and definitely too hot too move.
Certainly a place to return with different light, even when the scenario is less catastrophic as your vision

Just love this, brilliant 'fore-shortening'.
Giotto would have been very proud of you!
I have always love this kind of photo which makes one realise the juxtaposition of nature and industry.
Have mostly liked seeing Pylons almost walking across the landscape.
Well done.

Giotto ? He might have been much surprised about these pylons - without any doubt.
Thank you, Jenny. I never see my pictures as being so good that they will stand to any such comparison, but I have enjoyed your comment (and associations) a lot !

Will talk to you by note.

About the print. This can certainly be arranged, if you really care
Good weekend to you, Jenny
