Description
Quick Tutorial on photographing lightning:Bring: Digital SLR Camera, Tripod, Patience.
Method A: If your camera has a full-auto mode, find a shutter speed that gets an intelligible, but very dark exposure of the surrounding clouds. Hold the button and let the camera do the magic.
Method B: Personally, the above might be more concise and simple, I like to throw the human element in there. I find a good time range first, and then using the 'Bulb' shutter speed, which opens the shutter as long as I have my finger on the button. Too long exposing, I let go and don't worry about deleting the image. If I get a lightning strike, I can let go or let it expose longer in case I get two strikes.
