Actually, she weighs 50 lbs at 5'3 due to her bone structure, so even without using her semblance she isn't very strong

Why did she choose to become a huntress despite being physically weak?

it has to do with how she was raised. she also has a thirst for power that she believes attaining being a huntress would give her. She has no problems in combat anyway, but she won't be winning any arm wrestling fights.

Yes, that are aware of it. And they do protect her a little. The team has two parts, the sword and the shield, Blanche and her Partner Dusk are the sword, and Lilac and Umber, who are partners, are the shield because they are different kind Tanks when it comes to stats.
