That musical scene reminded of a story of a prisoner from the show "Beyond Scared Straight"; he was in for association with murder and was sentenced to life after his friends snitched on him
He only intend to take his so-called friends to a convenient store with his car, not knowing they had killed the owner during a botched robbery; he reluctantly helped his so-called friends escape the murder scene and despite having no criminal record, the judge didn't want to hear the rest about his case and just threw him the book
