Post Angband Maedhros with Maglor bandaging his wounds.Maglor tries to be enthusiast and supportive to Maedros with fun and jokes, but he is not good at it. He is very worried about his brother. Every time when he sees his nightmarish wounds under bindings, he cannot believe that there are such moral fiends in the world who are capable of causing pain in living creature and finding pleasure in it.

very emotional picture. You managed to capture Maedhros´pain and distress in the hunch of his shoulders and Maglors expression is very well done. I also like that you don´t see Maedhros face, somehow that´s more telling than showing it.

I thought that Maedhros don't feel much pain because his wounds mostly healed. But he is definitely in distress. Even through he is at home now among family and friends, his thoughts are still at Angband. He started to realise that coming back to peacefull life reqires more life strength than he thought. Maedhros is throwed off his stride.

All in all his story is very similar to soldiers who come back from war and have to learn how to live normally again. On the battlefield they simply hope to survive and return home but as soon as they are safe they have to deal with nightmares, PTSD and so on.
So yes, Maedhros being distressed for quite some time is just normal.
