Won me Best in Show at my Senior Art Exhibition
deviantArt is sometimes a little weird when it comes to playing this, so I apologize in advance if the music is out of sync with the animation. If it is (which will be obvious, I think), I recommend viewing elsewhere, selecting download on the right, or letting the video cycle once over before watching. Here's the animation I worked on all fall semester 2011. It's an excerpt from the fourth chapter of my fantasy novel series.
This isn't the ending I had in mind; the original ending was a lot more complicated and definitely longer. With my time limit, though, definitely not feasible. My teacher liked this ending, so I'm fine with it.
There are a million things wrong with it, I know; please don't point them out to me.
I'm much better at animation than I was before, but I just don't have the time to fix the problems right now. Maybe I will later.After Effects Animation

that was... intense. you can produce moments of considerable force and power, such as when the door thrust up from the group, the force with which it was animated made me expect a boom or crash. the whole animation and characters had a feeling of barely restrained power that is only hinted at. Whoever did the music knew exactly what they were doing, it absolutely raised this work to another level of artistic quality.

wow you are so talented, I can't bring myself to say that it was good BUT you should fix this that..etc since I do know what it takes to animate such huge amount of movement and expressions, and in this.. gosh you really did put so much effort in it, I absolutely enjoyed every scene! <3
its really awesome and I believe you when you say you've became better now, because during the animation I could notice the improvement while moving to the next scene!

Well it is blatantly CG. I'd work on the marionette effect you are getting. DOn't be so tied into the pivot points or it will just look like some european 1 man created morning cartoon
