great photomanip. I can't tell if she's disolving in smoke or water, actually, I'm willing to think she's coming out of flowers; it's a great effect. I also like what you did with the light that shines on her.

but then the title, makes me think that only water would really quiet everything, so maybe it is water.

Looks good bra, I'd just tone down the eyes so they're not as bright since they look too fake that way. Other than that it's pretty rad

A wonderful work. But... Por que o tΓtulo em portuguΓͺs? Why the title in portuguese; " Silencio" ... with a litle mistake: " Silence" is "SilΓͺncio". "Silencio", your title, is, in english: " I dont do any rumour", presente tense of the verb to silence.

its funny that i found this today..it coincides with something ive been thinking an awful lot about lately, (or to me anyways). ive always had this intense desire to live underwater, to exsist among the darkness and deep silence that resides at the bottom.. knowing that if i were to sink in far enough, the chaotic silence that swirls in my head no matter if its quiet or not, would fade the further i go..

then after having a discussion today, about silence, realizing no matter where you go, silence is never silent..and true, unadulturated silence..doesnt exsist..the more we go through in life the more our ideas, and positions about things change, how we deal with grief, saddness, lonliness, etc.. and i've found mine to be changing quite drastically lately.

And then i followed a link to this image, and it was almost like it solidifed my new found belief..

i see this in her. i see that she was trying to escape, and find her silence that she has always sought. it looks as if its not how she thought it would be. her wounds on her hands, and the way she seems to be degrading, slowly, staying there hoping that maybe it will eventually fade into perfect silence..
no matter how far you sink, your silence is always tainted. we cant escape our thoughts and feelings, and emotions, and most of the time those are the things that make the most noise, and ring the loudest in our minds ears..
not even in death can you find true silence..because once you die, you no longer exsist to know the difference.. and depending on what you believe, is just another begining for new sounds and chaos..

i think everything is connected, our senses and emotions all tie into eachother one way or another, and so ( i hate harping on the silence thing, but thats really the strongest thing i feel from this) searching for pure silence, is futile in its own right.. seeing as how we cant escape our feelings and thoughts, thats what makes us alive, human. it creates songs, and sounds no matter how isolated and distant we are, no matter how far we go.. our minds always breathing in synaesthesia, each sense playing off eachother, working with our emotions, spinning a web of sound that inexcapable..

i love that her hands are seaweeding in her hair like that, i wrote something about that a while back, after experiencing how it felt in the bathtub one night..a soft and delicate feeling, i compared the feeling to happiness, as if you could touch happiness thats what it would feel like, so to see that in this, makes me think that shes searching for her happiness..

the light coming from her eyes, or being targeted at her eyes, i'm not completly sure, i stared for a while and it could go either way, but light is always symbolic of hope, and freedom..and the fact that her eyes are glowing with it, shows me shes not completly broken where she is.. shes holding on to, something, nothing.. anything.

i really like the netting thats covering her, at first thought it was almost as if it was holding her down, but at the same time she doesnt seem to mind.. like so many things in our lives that hold us down, but we allow them to, sometimes very knowingly, and sometimes not.. but humans are strange creatures.. no matter how many times we run ourselves in the same unproductive circles, we always somehow track our footprints back to the same places weve already tread upon.
trapped in ourselves, in our minds, and our own chaos, begging for space, and freedom, but hating lonliness just the same..

the tones are beautiful, the dark cyans, complimenting that deep underwater feel, and the way you only see part of her, as if shes not completly whole, but still a bold force, breaking through..

i dont care for her earing, for some reason it throws me off..not exactly sure why, and her lipstick at first bothered me, being so deep in burgendy, but after staring for a while, started to adjust to the whole scene, picking up the subtle reds in her hands wounds.

geeze that was a lot longer of a comment than i had intended, but i sort of just sunk right into this, and i found it at just the right time..my apologies for going on and on, and my conrats on executing a beautiful and powerful piece of art.

nah.. ;]

its what comments should be when art makes you feel something..
many people just fall short, or can't express themselves..

art is meant to be felt, and soaked in.. not just looked at with our eyes..our eyes
show us nothing.. it should be looked at with our heart and soul..
or else we're all just wasting our time..

plus i was blessed with an amazing gift to ramble on.. heh

Well... it's Morgana, I can't help but look. It's actually one of the really good things I saw featuring her this one... I see lots of ugly fast stuff being done with her. I think I have personally done something ugly with her in my starting steps.
I like the feeling that this gives me, and the title is very appropriate. It really seemed silent to me before I saw the title...

Very nice. To me this seems like a piece that the ambience of green could absolutely kill the overall aesthetics of the piece, but it came out very naturally, it looks amazing. Also, the fading of her torso into the background is top notch work. Excellent.

pretty damn amazing.

lovely colours and effects. the eroding effect was executed flawlessly and beautifully, it being the strongest part of the picture. the eyes and the sparkling dust was very nicely done as well, love the details and the idea.

composition's great too, especially the top. elements are placed together in such a way that you'd be drawn to her eyes immediately, despite of all the surrounding details. what bugs me a little is the dark area near the bottom. if the body didn't fade away so... abruptly, it would look better, I think.

still, it's bloody nice. +fav.

interesting achievement...i love the pallet tones and overall nicely composed...it actually reminds me of the movie art for the forgotten (where J.Moore is fading into the leaves) the only thing i would suggest is maybe sharpening some edges around the texture/hair..filter-other-custom is a great way to do that. Either way i love this.

I really like this from you, yes, its a tad bit different from your normal work, but the result is amazing.

I get this feeling ffrom the piece, that this beautiful woman is surfacing from the waters, and the light is shining down upon her. I really love the lighting you added to her eyes, and the lighting cast down upon her.

Now, the brushing is very nice done. The feeling you get while lookin at it could be many different things.

I really enjoyed viewing this picture, to be honest while writing this comment, I had to stop ever so often and look at the picture and look further into the detail put into it. Very nice done my friend, your skill is shone wonderfully.

i'm curious as to what ambience you associate with the piece, physical and emotional.

do you get underwater, underground, sad, vengeful etc? not that any of these were neccessarily my intentions, i'm just curious as to what you saw....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

l1b3rat3 In reply to ekud [2005-02-14 03:10:22 +0000 UTC]

I saw a very underwater scene, almost as if the woman was surfacing from the water. The sort of colors gave me the sad impression, also the fact that, comming from my perspective, she was associated with water. I found that looking more into the meaning that she was surfracing from something more than just water, maybe problems that may be bringing her down. The lighting you created is the light from the other side, the side she is looking for, the side to bring her joy. I see a story almost portrayed in the image, that she was underwater, being brought down from sadness and depression. And now, as a symbol of breaking free, she is surfacing the water, and is seeing the light on the other side....
