I'm still amazed when I come back to look at this piece. She looks so little and frail next to his size, and full armor... which is an appropriate contrast, given the difference between men (even the ancient, long-lived races) and the immortality of the elves. You have captured the clash between fear and love wonderfully here.
Blessings!

Thank you very much, Charles, I tried very much to feature that difference between the races)
In my oppinion " Atrabeth Finrod ah Andreth" is a most threedimentional and thought provoking part, there the meaning of all the book is especially becomes apparent (how I understood it). Eldar- a beautiful dream of the human of immortality, beauty, harmony, mastery... and Edain, like they are, (in their best variations), and the eternal questions... in the other Silmarillion is easy to dance away that meaning behind the abundance of beautiful princesses, valiant knights and terrible dragons

Ha! Yes, I agree. While I think Tolkien loved beautiful princesses, knights and dragons, he really did have a tremendous amount of depth in the issues of meaning and life he was exploring. Living eternally isn't all that we imagine it to be, and as both good and evil work their way though our individual lives, as well as our cultures and families and friendships, there is both beauty and darkness. I don't think he saw the Edain as "second best" to the Eldar. The fact of their relatively short lives (compared to the Eldar, not to our even shorter lifespans!) meant that they had a limited time to be whatever they could be, which gave them a drive to live that the elves never understood.
yeah, great stuff to think about there...

Totally agree with you, Edain is not "second best" to the Eldar, Edain have their own way and even their own advantages, Finrod understood it the first. Even in Tolkien's conception it was a higher role for Edain.
But how I can see, the most of Tolkien's fan-community would like to see themself as an elves, identifies themself with elves). So, I have a small hope to draw attention to this question) Tolkien's world is not escape from reality, this is attempt to understand our life

And THAT is perhaps the greatest reason for the true relevance of his work, and the reason why his stories have lasted so long. Yeah, he's a master storyteller, but he also understood life and people. This is why, when Tolkien wrote The Hobbit, the true story really wasn't about Thorin and the dwarven kings and treasure, but about these silly little halflings, and how they were the ones who ended up saving the world, not the noble elves and warriors (though kings an armies and dragons certainly each had their roles to play!)
