Your art reminds me very much of Alan Lee's paintings; you capture the same ethereal, long-time-ago-that-is-now-lost quality that I can't quite describe but is so appropriate for Silmarillion fan art. Something about the softness of the colors and the other-worldliness of the characters, the painting is like a glimpse into a world that has a beauty that is older and deeper than anything in our world. It's the same feel as when I look at an Alan Lee painting, and I just can't quite describe it, but I am very impressed with the detail, love, and care that you clearly put into your art.
Finrod's outfit is just stunning, and the pale blue with the gold embroidery that matches the tracery on his sword feels so wonderfully elven and Noldorin. And the detail on the chain mail, wow! And the texture of his golden hair looks so real that I feel like I could reach out and touch it and imagine exactly what it would feel like. He looks so noble with his fine clothes and sword, but I love the gentleness on his face and the soft simplicity of his hands strumming the harp. Finrod was always my favorite Noldo, because of how he is both noble and humble, a brave warrior and prince who loves sitting and playing music for a secondborn race. He's such an interesting character, particularly beside all the shenanigans of High Doom that the rest of his family are embroiled in, and I think you've captured him beautifully.

You know, that's not a very rude (basic, raw) harp
But what a fabulous picture! As a photographer i find myself wanting to crop away some of the extreme left edge, but maybe that's why i'm a mediocre photographer

This has got to be one of my favorite parts in the book. You depicted Lord Felagund exactly as my imagination did. This is one of my favorite pieces of yours and you really understand Tolkien's mood and ambiance in my opinion.

(I guess because of Ted Nasmith's (very cool) illustration I never considered the fact that there would be families there.
