Description
SHADOWS OF SPRING"As I look back, I can clearly recall how my beloved mother, Demeter, provided me with everything a daughter could ever ask; how she showered me with love and trust, and how she, the Goddess of Harvest and Grains allow her daughter to use her power and to be known as the Goddess of the Spring. Those were the days when my loving mother would walk with me to my realm... and how I would proudly show my garden and fulfill my heart with pride because I nobly comply to my duty as the Goddess of the Spring. Oh! How beautiful it is! My garden was showered with the colors of the rainbow, vibrant colors that intertwined with the beautiful rays of Apollo's Sun. The Anthousai were singing splendidly as they welcome me and my mother.. the fragrance.. the wonderful sweet smelling fragrance coming from my garden would awe my mother and how she would look upon me and proudly say "Persephone, my darling child, you are indeed the Goddess of the Spring!"
Oh, what could I give to see my mother again, for me to get back to my world, under my mother's loving arms! Alas! Here is my captor, striding and full of might! How I wish my mother's here! How I dreamed of coming back. Father! Father! If you could hear my plea! Father, save your humble daughter! Save me Father, please return me to my mother.. I, Persephone, your daughter, is calling you.."
- Persephone, prisoner in the Underworld
Greek Myth info:
Demeter: Goddess of Harvest and Grains
Persephone: Goddess of the Spring
Anthousai: Nymphs (or can we say fairies?) of Flowers
Decided to have Persephone and Demeter here. Persephone's abduction made Demeter forgot her duties as the Goddess of harvest and grains. With Persephone's loss, Demeter forbade all the crops to grow, thus making the mortals starve and die. With Persephone gone, a great famine ruled. After Persephone was restored to Demeter, plants began to grow, and spring approached.
