From what I hear, in the original story Eric was already betrothed to someone else and his feelings toward Ariel were more platonic than anything else.

I love the lighting in this piece. The bright warmth from up above contrasts well with the cool blue of the ocean below.

I like Eric's face/hair (I was just thinking about how light and shadow works for dark hair, and you did it the way I wasΒ observing), but IΒ also likeΒ pretty muchΒ everything else.
