I really like definition and shading, especially the detail on those cute foal legs! The background is lovely too.
Perhaps use a larger range of colours next time on the body to make him pop out of the background a little more

Judging 1/3
The anatomy and shading is very good which gives a general appearance of action but also seriousness. It's great to see you used the suggested tack and the challenging pose you used shows the amount of effort you put in. I think the background and poles look really cute, detailed and the poles slightly cartoonish which always lifts the spirits.
Perhaps a tiny bit more detail could be added to the shading but mainly the shadow as it looks a little misplaced. It looks like the browband of the halter is missing but that might just be the angle of the foal. If you had added a story it would of added more meaning, an insight to what is going on in the picture and taken away the serious effect. A handler would have allowed you a couple more points as well.

Thank you, the only bit I have to question is the halter, as halters don't have browbands, only foal bridles do and foal bridles weren't specified =3 Glad that this type of judging has prevailed again, nice to get some feedback
In the prizes can I have the shaded fullbody of the horse in the entry but at 2 1/2 years old please, I'll take a look at the breeds but not sure I'll be interested in them all. I'll contact other people about the other prizes later and take a look for breedings =3

i cant seem to get the proportations right when drwing digital...so much easier on paper.

I used Photoshop CS6 =3 I suck at getting proportions right but on photoshop you can select bits to move and change =3
