Description My first quick attempt to use Luxrender.
I find it kind of blurry... Maybe I did not let it render long enough.

I would appreciate feedback on the quality and maybe hints on how to better handle Luxrender.

Anyways, thanks for looking.

This is very good.  Just remember that when Reality 4.1 is released there will be a BIG jump in rendering speed.  Reality 4.1 will use LuxRender 1.5.  While iRay is very fast there is a big difference between the two products right. I'm not saying one is better than the other, just that there are differences. I've tried iRay and found I really missed the things I can do with Reality/LuxRender.

Reality/LuxRender as bundle has been around for 5 years and has grown with each release
Once you send your scene to Reality and start rendering in LuxRender you can close down your scene (always save it first) and start working on another scene, you can't do that using iRay.
You can manipulate the lighting in the LuxRender UI.  You can't do that in iRay

Those are just a couple of the differences.

Yes, I am waiting for reality 4.1 with impatience.
Right now Iray is not giving me the same results, but the speed is amazing in comparison in my aging rigg.

I am looking at the reality news closely.

Thanks for passing by.

Well thanks... I still think that it took way too long for this blurry result though. I need to check if I'm doing something wrong.
Anyways, your comment is appreciated.

Lux takes a loooong time to render. I don't know if you are using Reality as the Daz plugin, but they are supposed to be working on a update that will dramatically increase render times.

I know I know I really find they have an amazing product. I am eager to test the next version. In the meantime I will give a try to iray... not as good as lux in my opinion, but so much faster!

I'm going to give Iray a shot as well. I really like Reality and Lux, but the long render times are murder! Do you need the beta version of Daz to run Iray?

I think so... At least the comments I read in the forums say so.

Is Iray a lot faster than Lux?

You can compare my two last pictures... The one with lux needed 4 hours and the one with iray 15 minutes...
But again... I feel lux can give much better results...

Yes, going to be a bit of a learning curve with Iray I see. I love the renders some are getting but I'm just getting a dark image. I'll figure it out though.
