Captain's Log, KES Socrates: Stardate 2354.68
Captain A. Ontiveros of the KES Socrates. This is my final entry. As a sign of good will from a crew I have served with for nine years, one of which has seen many of them perish, they are letting me write down my closing thoughts.

Our defensive position at the Hades Cluster was driven through with the point and precision of a lance. I recieved orders to fall back and regroup with the remainder of our fleet, now a jury-rigged flotilla. It has been extensive and no one expected a force so violent to hide in the shroud beyond our borders. Without the raw materials to bolster our forces; rationing of resources meant Korinth was doomed to fall with its reliance on off-world supplies being thrwarted in under six months of fighting. When the skirmishes broke out across several systems, we were unprepared and dispersed... So easily overcome.

Mutiny was whispered in quiet corners of the ship, I cannot blame them for their fear. An unknown enemy with unquestionable numbers, it is soul rending. I refused their pleas to flee- because without Korinth, there is nowhere to go. Perhaps I am too sentimental.

I await the fate befalling an ill-fitting Captain, perhaps in the freezing vaccuum of space I shall find peace unending. The cowardly die several times before their true death, I can only hope I will not be counted amongst those who shy away from protecting their people.

Whew, this took a lot of work and time. I've been very inspired over the years by all the amazing sci-fi shows and games out there, it feels good to draw my own ideas. I used to do a lot of space art, so I'm glad I could put together another piece, it's been about five years since my last one!
