I'll tell you 2 major things that would make this painting better in my opinion.
1- cover the back of the head with hair and make some of the hair seem like it is actually growing from there.
2- I'm not sure if this is a style or not but if it was me I would make the nose shorter than that. the face, in general, is too big compared to the neck. or (i'm not sure) the head and the neck are actually really big compared to the torso if that was the bust area like I think. if that is not the bust then we go back to the face idea.
the hair is not bad at all, there is some hesitation in some of the lines but all in all it looks nice. this includes the coloring too because I think your coloring is quite good. if you want it to look better I suggest creating more contrast between the dark and the light areas. don't blend too much so that it doesn't look blurry, and blurry is more suitable for realistic styles in my opinion. i would add a layer or two more of lighter colors.
i love the background and the effects too. these were really well done.
your coloring of the clothes is very good, I don't have any comment about it. i hope this was helpful and forgive me for the long comment.

Thank you for pointing out the face/nose size compared to the rest of the body! Haha yeah, it's my first time trying to shade flowing hair and now looking back on it, I definitely could've added more contrast. Thank you for the critique!

Hello! I found you through: ProjectComment . I want to be able to give you a bit of criticism on this piece. First I’d like to give you some hair references and cloth references: img.scoop.it/tzdSmnewN4BvYO5aE…, getdrawings.com/image/hair-tut…, pre00.deviantart.net/ddbc/th/p…, www.deviantart.com/deviantblue…. Now for some general criticism. I notice that the body is small in comparison to the head. The body needs to be wider and her bust shouldn’t be that far up. Take this for reference: getdrawings.com/image/female-b…. The direction of the wind also goes in 2 ways, and it really distracts from everything, from my perspective. Since most of the hair is going behind, the two pieces from the bangs should also follow that direction. There’s also kind of a blank spot on her head where some hair should be. Also, if I just eyeball some of it, there’s really no room for her brain. Take a look here for some reference: www.kylekane.com/blog/files/BI…. The nose also shouldn’t really stick that far out, as it should just curve out. The eye placement, however, is generally correct. As for the shading, it seems correct, but the light source should only emit highlights onto the bits facing it (ex: the hair on the side of the fire in the background) since the hair in front doesn’t face the light source. Take this for reference: orig00.deviantart.net/6428/f/2…. Unless, of course, there’s more fire that the viewer can’t see. Overall, I love this piece and you should continue to practice and improve!

Thank you so much for the references and pointing out that there should be space for the brain, the bust placement and the blank spot! The way you explained the hair helps as well!
Woah these are amazing references.... thanks again!

I think you did fantastic on the shading
Adding some faint white streaks on your hair highlights would make the hair appear more shiny if that's what you're looking for.
