Are Welsh Collie breeders common in your area? I've seen the websites of the working Welsh Collie/Sheepdog breed and they make it sound like the breed is dying out even in their home country. I was wondering if I'd have to fly over to Wales to get a pup when I'm ready to buy one.

Nah. Well, we had to go to Wales to get ours. And there was just one litter that the farmer was going to drown, but he waited too long and just gave them away instead.
I've never met anyone else with one haha.

He was going to drown them!? Your dog almost didn't make it past puppyhood? That is a frightening thought.
I've seen the Welsh Collies with shorter fur and also the longer haired dogs like yours and even though shorter fur would be easier to care for, I'm smitten with the look of the long fur.

Yeah, because if farmers don't want the puppies, they just drown them. But he didn't because he waited too long adn the puppies opened their eyes. And he couldn't do it. Which is good for me. Well, and the dogs haha.

i love the snowbursts littering the fur of his littlest face, the descending angle of the rock structure to his right... i wish this photo was HUGE so i could swoon over every wonderful detail!

He's a Welsh Collie! Just a bit stockier than a Collie and aye, with a shorter nose.

Haha, they're really pretty nice. You get the brown colouring which you don't get in normal collies aswellll.
My aunty lives in Wales, and knew someone who had a litter. So we got Myrddin through that. =]

They're not a regestered breed which is a shame. You'd probably get a lot more of 'em if they were regestered!
