I like how every starter has a roundish dumpling face and sprout hairstyles in this gen :3cΒLooking forward to see what type combo these three will have at their final stage! Will we get water dragon? *w* Hopefully not fire/fighting again

A lot of people are theorizing Water/Dragon, and the problem is that would break the type triangle by removing it's weakness to Grass. Same reason I doubt Scorbunny will be Fire/Electric(as it could then land STAB super effective hits on both other starters) as awesome as that would be.

Hmm back then Decidueye doesn't actually complete the type triangle since it's grass/ghost, so I guess the secondary types might not alway fit in the triangle? At least we can hope~

Not quite. Even with the secondary types being off, the triangle of grass/water/fire still worked since the secondary types had no effect on the effectiveness of the primary types on each other. Decidueye being part ghost had no effect on it's weakness to fire, but Sobble's evolutions being part dragon would eliminate their weakness to grass, breaking the primary triangle.

I guess back then Empoleon also eliminated the grass weakness being half steel type, but then Sinnoh was many years ago, so maybe not likely for Game freak to repeat that again -w-;

Maybe, but I guess Empoleon got a pass because, though it wasn't weak to grass, it was weak to Torterra's other type of ground; so taking all types into account, the starters still formed a triangle.
With this in mind, if Grookey or its evolutions ends up being part fairy or something, then Sobble or its evolutions being part dragon would be easier to swallow.

Yeah I've seen people speculatingΒ Grookey gets to be grass/fairy in the final evolution too, so maybe it could be a possibility~!
