Description While my fiance noted that it should be titled the "Valuable Yet Unpawnable Amulet of Plot Advancement", deviantART doesn't offer that much space for a title. Either way, it's better known as the Amulet of Kings.

I do humbly apologize to any viewers who were somehow still unaware that I am an unbelievable nerd.

Anyway, in my continuing efforts to practice and improve my beading and wireworking techniques, the inspiration struck to make this.

For the center "stone", after having tried several other options (being that I am sorely lacking in gigantic red diamonds), using tons of red seed beads seemed to work the best... there are also quite a few other artistic licenses taken, like the swirls, but hey, it's made from wire and beads, mimicking faceted stones and cast metal, so I'm fairly proud of it.

Nerd, nerd, nerd...

This is based off of the item in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which is owned by Bethesda Softworks, though the wire design is a creation of my own.

The pendant itself measures approximately 1 3/4 by 2 1/2 inches.

Edit: Much better photo!

I do beadwork, and I really admire this piece. It is a true story that the first time I played Oblivion, I was completely distracted by the Emporer's Hideous Necklace, so much so that when he stuffs it in your bags in the game, I noticed right away, not because the game told me it had happened, or because Patrick Stewart said so, but because I realized Uriel wasn't wearing the horrible thing anymore. "Where did the Hideous Necklace go...? Oh. OH CRAP!" I was concerned I'd have to wear it. Thank the Nine it never game to that.

What gauge wire did you use on this piece, both for the frame and the wraps? I do very little wire work because I have a heck of a time controlling it at the level you're working at.

Thanks! I still love that if you never take the blasted thing to Weynon Priory, nothing bad happens- apparently attacking a bunch of secret-service-like monks is no problem, but chasing down a single escaped prisoner is just too difficult.

The outer frame is 16 gauge, the inner frame and swirls are either 18 or 20 gauge (I don't remember which), and the wrapped wire is 24 gauge. This was one of the first successful wire work pieces I ever made- it's not that hard, but does require a bit of planning. If you want to try, I also recommend starting with copper wire. It's much more forgiving than brass.

I actually have a khajiit somewhere on a jump drive where I did exactly that... nice quiet game.

I've worked with copper and sterling, but not brass. There's a point with these sorts of intricate wire projects where I start to feel I'm fighting a losing battle with tension and chaos. I understand what to do, in terms of assembling something like that, but when I attempt to make it happen... it does not. So I tend to work more on small scale projects with gourd stitch and bead mesh. I do much better with string! The wire work I have done has been mostly simple linking projects.

Love the hat pins, by the way.
