Description So, everyone this holiday season got maille. This is my dad's bracelet. I didn't post it earlier because he visits this page often and I had to move. It's bronze and Ti. Thanks to Phong for the tut.

Very nice! What do you use for clasps? Do you make your own?

I ended up using a hammered bronze toggle clasp that a friend of mine made me. I wish I had the picture with the clasp but this was taken before the clasp was even made.

Awesome Helm variant.
I like the look of the titanium with the bronze.

I've been very hesitant to work with Ti. I've heard that the spring back is a beast.

Do you remember what gauge you used for this?

Yes, I remember. I used 20 gauge.

The spring back was a pain in the butt. I could only work about a few rings at a time before my hands cramped. It really was a struggle and I was 'in shape' for chainmaille.

It's really neat looking now; my father has allowed the Bronze to tarnish a bit so it's really old looking. He loves it.

Very nice.
I've just started doing maille myself. I have just been messing around with jump rings cause they're cheap but I plan on getting better rings once I get more of an Income this summer (college student).

I have learned: Full persian, european 4-1, and have just started on helm weave.

At first glance this looks kinda like Beez to Butterflies but when I look closer it looks like its actually built on the helm weave.

I like this weave alot. I may give it a try after I get by my "noob" stage.

Thanks for your comments!! As a beginner I recommend using Bright Alum. I get it from TRL, it's cheap, shiny, and you get a lot more for less in the long run. (I started with jump rings too!) Also with jump rings, the machine cut won't look as good as saw cut. You will get spoiled with well made rings!! lol

If you want the tut for this weave go to CGMAILLE.com. Phong has the best CG tuts, plus ring size suggestions and ARs.

Awesome design. Does the bronze oxidize like copper does? The only metal I've used is copper and of course it leaves a green dye on the skin, from the oxidation, but I love your use of Ti with the Bronze the colors compliment each other very well. How long did you spend on this piece?

Yeah, it will turn your skin green depending on the acid in your skin. That particular piece took about 8 hours. I've never worked with Ti before and the fight was killing my hands.

Reminds me of a snake, fluid and strong. I like the two different metals together, too!

I've thought this about a couple of your pieces... Maybe you could find a way to show the appox. size of the piece in a way that won't distract from the lovely way you photograph them? Such as working a ruler in there or placing a coin next to the piece. Or maybe just posting the dimensions. I love your work but I have a hard time picturing the scale/sizing sometimes! (And sorry that was so long!)

That bracelet is exactly 8" long. I may go back and place the length of each one so people know. Most everything you see is about 7" unless it's a ring or a necklace.
