Description
Bennetts WallabyFreycinet National Park, Tasmania, Australia
There are several species of kangaroo, the most famous being the red kangaroo common in arid regions of Australia. Due to the more mountainous and heavily vegetated environment of Tasmania, red kangaroos are not found in the state. However, the grey kangaroo (also known as the Eastern grey kangaroo or Forester kangaroo) is common, and is a protected species. I bumped into these two at sunrise, both being quite at ease in my presence. Tripod used due to the low light conditions of the very early morning.

Nice photo, although I could swear those are wallabies! I think Bennet's (aka Red-necked) Wallaby (Macropus rufogriseus)?

...I can recommend wikipedia.org for identifying species. It's got most mammals and birds on there at least.
