Description
Emerald CurrentMossman Gorge, Daintree National Rainforest Park, Tropical Queensland
Mossman Gorge really is an amazing and peaceful place - what you see here is what it looks like in real life. The river tumbles its way over and around large granite boulders that line the gorge, and crystal clear waters reflect the surrounding tropical rainforest, producing the intense saturation of colours in the water
Shooting here proved to be extremely difficult, as the conditions were pretty extreme - the rain kept hitting the lens and camera, humidity was about at 70% which kept fogging up the lens, it was close to 40 degrees celcius (104 Fahrenheit) and the lighting conditions changed every few minutes with the fast moving rain clouds exposing and hiding the sun. But i managed to get quite a few good shots. This is one of them.

Wow, such conditions!
The light on the trees is wonderful, and that water is really cool.

Great colors there. The flowing water is beautifully captured, and the rocks are a nice touch. This makes me miss summer.
I'm slightly disturbed by the dark tree on the left. It could be better if it was in the center or somewhere 2/3 left/right. Additionally, I think this would have been more interesting if you had focused on some of the rocks and used a selective focus.
What ISO speed did you use, if I may ask? Any post-processing done here? I'm just wondering, because there's a fair amount of sharpness, could've settled for less. Not a big problem, though. Overally, I like this a lot. It really popped up in the Waterscapes subsection.

Thanks for the comment, and especially for the critique
I agree with the tree, i should've spent more time with the composition. As for the iso, i used the lowest on my camera (200) to have as little noise as possible since this was using a slow shutter speed. And as for post processing, yes i did sharpen in PS and boosted saturation.
Thanks again, glad you like it

What a sight for sore eyes...literally. Green is the most soothing colour in the spectrum, and I could just gaze at this forever
Absolutely gorgeous. You've captured the channel in its entire green glory but there's an added feeling of the fantastical...

Although fireworks are pretty, they never last long.
But who says we cannot have fireworks going on and on?

This is an absolutely stunning shot! I grew up in an area with lush vegetation just like that - makes me a little home sick. Don't miss the 100% humidity and 40C temps though.
Great shot in difficlut circumstances.
