Awesome moment.... could be a National Geographic shot. Do you know why crocs do this?

elementality In reply to AcousticAlchemy [2005-01-05 06:38:16 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much Its in the crocs instinct to get food in any way they can, including jumping out of water, so to demonstrate this the tour operators dangle a peice of meat above (which is just out of the frame)

This is fantastic. I like how the photo is blurred from depth of field to pull attention fully to the croc as he tries to grab a meal. The framing and exposure are great. I particularly like the detail and sharpness of the focus you used here. You truly have captured an awesome animal of nature showing off its raw power in such an amazing shoit. You won't see many like this in the nature gallery I wouldn't think!
well done man

LOL, I have an 7 year old daughter who since she was 2 years old would always demand to watch the crock hunter! Wiley knows alot about crocs, and thinks she knows the Irwin family as if she grew up with them! I showed her this picture and she said to me " daddy, THats a salty " so i asked her how she knew that! She said that alligators are lazy! wich i think she meant to say the fresh water crocs are lazy

Just adding one more comment to the list... Beside the obvious 'cool croc', I like the water, the way it's captured around his tail, it looks almost frozen. The sky is a wee bit distracting... doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the colors. Or maybe it's just because it won't fit on my screen (I have DA set to fullview everything instead of previewing first)
