Description
Slow Motion IIPinnacle Rock, Phillip Island, Victoria
The last light of the sun pushes through a break in the clouds on the horizon whilst tumultuous waves are dissolved into a fine mist.

A revisit to the same place I shot 'Slow Motion'
[link]
I really wasn't happy with that first shot - there were next to no clouds, and the perspective was too flat because the water was far too choppy for me to go down, so I decided to revisit Pinnacle Rock.
This time, the results were much better - the water was very calm, enough for me to get down close to the water. Not having to worry about spray and wiping the lens was a bonus too.
This is a blend of exposures. The 30s exposure on the water overexposed the sky pretty badly even with the stacked Grad NDs so I took a seperate, shorter exposure and blended it in to bring back detail in the sky.

Beautifully atmospheric, and the lighting makes it look almost like a fantasy painting. Great work!

Beautiful. I like the unexpectedly vibrant colours in the clouds.

That is just.. just... just... NO WORDS can describe this one... "awesome" is not a word worthy this picture! "Beautiful" is also a word too small...:S

Much better sky and you have composed it to have the light running right thru from back to foreground lifting the whole shot.

This is just so amazing!
The mist is so awesome!
I love how all those rocks are so neat and clean and I wonder how did you get such a wonderful and clean focus on every detail in the picture?!

Thank you! I was very happy and surprised at the way the water came out too The back rocks are actually a little out of focus coz of sea spray on the lens but lucky its not too bad

Lovely scene. It's really beautiful.
I would just try to brighten a bit the top of some rock to minimize the Grad ND transition...
