Demons don't dieThey hide
Underneath memories
Underneath emotions
Foreign
In their immense power
They reside
Deep in the bones
Their whispers seep
Through tired muscles
They persist
Through gaps in lucidity
Their touch excites
Needle sharp
In the naked brain
On the ice-cold skin
Fright
Repeats its patterns
Demons cut
Their twisted way
Into the mind broken
Shifting shadows
Haunt
The lonely silence

We all have Inner Demons. And they make us relive the pain of past times. Times we want to forget, and times we wish never happened.Β
I'm no stranger to those feelings. And I'm guessing you aren't either.

They do. I especially get the ones that make me feel worthless or demeaned.

I have. And after a lot of thinking, I realized there was nothing I can do about them. I can't get rid be of those bad moments or memories. They are ingrained into my head, and there is no way to pull them art.
But, one thing I have learned is how to live with them. To make peace with my past. And it is not as hard as I thought it would be.
In my opinion, I believe that all that one needs is not just make peace with the past, but have Hope as well. Hope that the pastures will be greener ahead. Hope that the following day will be a better one.Β
Hope is what drives me. I don't know what drives you, but I imagine it must be something about looking forwards.
