Is there a place that I can go to learn how to make brushes? I started to dab a little into the custom brushes myself, but It can be difficult to make a brush and have it actually work well. Could you give me any advise?

Well actually, yes, I have a tutorial on my website on how to make a brush - [link]
It's pretty basic though. Just make sure when you make a brush that it's black and white. If you want to keep the luminosity on say, a flower, just makea duplicate layer of the colored original, make the layer below that desaturated, and for the colored duplicate layer, in the properties box put "luminosity"
Also you can play around with brush properties (textures, scattering, etc) in photoshop by opening the brushes pallette (window > brushes) and going through there and changing settings on a particular brush

Ive been looking for some brushes like this for an idea i got half way though a few weeks ago... hopefully now i can finish it....
