Character Design Guide

Welcome to your complete guide on Story-of-Sawsbucks character design!
Below, you will find detailed descriptions on what to expect when it comes to designing a character~

Totems
The residents of Harthaven, and the entire world, are Pokemon Gijinka.
A Pokemon Gijinka is a human with Pokemon traits.
Each character is imbued with a Pokemon. In the above example, you can see a Houndour gijinka.

All residents are born with their totem, or develop them in the first year of life.
Members are free to headcanon whether totems are genetic (run in a family's DNA), or spiritual (circumstances or chance).

Pokemon Traits
In order to not look too human, nor too anthropomorphic, each character must have 2 or 3 of the following traits. Aim for The Pokémon totem to be recognizable at a glance. Clothing does not count.

Traits:
Ears - Pokemon ears. (ex. on the head, replacing where ears normally rest.)
    Tail - A Pokemon tail.
    Wings - Pokemon wings.
Internal - Anything changed inside the body, not visible on the outside.
(ex. Strong personality traits, steel bones, lethal acid stomachs.)
Arms - Pokemon hands/arms. (ex. Paws, talons, scaly forearms, more/less fingers.)
Legs - Pokemon feet/legs. (ex. Paws, hooves, very hair calves, feathery lower legs.)
Decor - Markings that better identify The Pokémon.
(ex. A jewel on the forehead, exposed spine/bones, certain markings, horns, spikes.)
Other - Something that might not match the above descriptions.
(ex. The Electrode above uses Other to define their round body shape)

Hair / Eye / Skin Color
Residents may have any eye or hair color. You can choose more natural colors, or match them to your Pokemon totem. Skin colors should be natural human skin tones. There can be slight tints of other colors, but they should still be mostly human.
However, other traits must remain Pokemon colored. Such as if you have a blond-haired skitty, the skitty ears must stay pink.

Pokemon Limbs
Residents may have Pokemon limbs. However, these limbs must end beneath the elbow or knee.
You cannot have both Pokemon hands and Pokemon feet. You may only have 1, either the hands or feet.

Vague Totems
Some Pokemon do not have many traits, such as electrode and exeggcute.
If you choose a vague Pokemon, get creative!
Look through the Pokedex data and see if there is something happening inside the Pokémon, or if it has anything you can turn into a stand-out personality trait. Make use of color as markings, or try to fit the body shape.

Other
Resident height: Min: 4'0". Max: 6'11"
Be considerate, look up difficulties that anyone very short or very tall may have to endure.
Anyone 4'10" or less must include dwarfism/malnutrition in their histories
        and thoroughly research the causes.
Residents can not use magic. They can only use their Pokemon attacks.
Residents should not be a mythical creature (mermaid, naga, werewolf, etc.)
Ghost-type totems can be dead or alive.
(Please keep abilities only to what your pokemon can do.)
Thoroughly research any physical or mental disabilities.
Insensitivities / poor representation could result in your character needing changes/denied.

Design Tips
The biggest tip? Just have fun! Be creative! Show off your totem!
Make use of the Pokedex entries to give you ideas of hobbies or traits.
Play with height, body shape, and hair to bring your totem to life!
