Description
My very early application for >v>;
But I love making characters, so I can't help myself OTL
Name: Theodocia Reginapis
Nickname: Theo, Queen, Doctia, My Lady, Dot
Gender: Female
Species: Skeleton Bee
Age: 54 died about the age of 14
Birthday: April 19th
Height: 3'4"
Job: Librarian
Hometown: Birabuto Kingdom
Personality: Tender, Strict, and Vengeful,
Theodocia is a Skeleton Bee who enjoys peace and quiet, tending to hang out in a natural, warm location to read her books, or simply suck on a mug of warmed honey. However, she can substitute this peace with being surrounded by crowds of adoring allies, or children. Why is this? Theodocia may be small, but her ego is rather inflated and grows even further should she be praised or obeyed.
Orders are common words to leave her mouth. She is a demanding woman, and expects to be obeyed to even the slightest detail. If something is not going right, or her way, she will voice this quite bluntly and expect people to fix this. However, as strict and forceful she may be, she is a tender soul to children and very close allies. Now, even these beings do not avoid orders, they just get them in a softer voice.
While she is generally minding her own business, or demanding from some unsuspecting soul, there are times when angered that she can be vengeful. Fury is a beast that rests in her thorax, the great monster only erupting in her rage should someone wrong her or deflate her massive ego. Yet fear not! She is easily bribed into accepting one back onto her good side by providing a gift she enjoys!
History:
Deep beneath the searing dunes and through the tunnels carved by Bunbun-kind, there was laid an egg chosen to be female. She was an egg that was pampered, an egg that hatched into surely the kingdom's most adorable, wiggling, gooey larva. She had black eyes that sparkled with life, and she had a comb of luxury.
Theodocia was to be a queen.
But she was not the only one. Each day a female larva would hatch. Each day this female would be served by loyal drones who fed them, changed their diapers, and kept them safe.
And each day a larva would break free of her pupa to become a queen-in-waiting, meaning each day brought death.
There can only be one Queen Bee, and one princess awaiting her day to shine, and while the male Bunbun bees were out scavenging the desert for food, pollinating the dangerous Pakkun flowers, or attacking plumbers, the jealous queens-to-be fought for their right, and fought to the death.
Theodocia spent several years in her larva form with her brothers, each one with their own dreams of heading out into the world to gather food and protect the hive, or staying home as tender care-takers. Theodocia had no sisters near by, but they were in combs further away, and as any young female dreamed of, Theodocia wanted to be queen.
And oh how this dream of power made the young larva a spoiled gal! Never did she have to do anything but order about the Bunbun larvae around her, convincing them that serving a future queen such as herself would be a fun game to play.
Twelve years of playing princess would commence before the larvae began to enter their pupa stage. It was a time of sleep, a time of growth, and it would last anywhere from a year to three.
Still resting when she was the age of 14, another queen nearby had hatched. As was the way of the competitive queens, they fought to end the lives of other hopeful-queens, even if they were still in pupa form. Theodocia felt no pain when the neighboring queen stole away her possible rule. Instead she awoke feeling rather normal. It was only when she noticed her new yellow and black rear was rather transparent that she knew the truth!
Theodocia had become a Skeleton bee, and no longer could serve her hive as a queen. Noticing the sadness in the young ghost, she was offered a position as a worker. Being young and having no knowledge of the world beyond, this was the only choice she could see. If she could not be a queen, she could still support her hive in some way. So out into the world she went, learning the humble and dangerous job of a drone.
However, after four years of gathering pollen, seeking out food supplies, and making honey, her personality was too regal for the other drones. Her bossy nature conflicting with their orders from true veteran drones. As the drones continued to obey their true orders, she found herself growing more irked and lonely each day. She was old enough now, she had knowledge enough to support herself, right? She could find food, she could seek water, she could make honey and make decisions. It would be now the young dead queen decided to leave her own hive to travel into the world and perhaps, just perhaps, she would find another hive that she could claim. A hive where she could be queen.
Theodocia's travels would span out several years. She would meet other Bee kinds and visit several hives, some comforting and homey, others hostile. She would meet many other Skeleton bees, and while hopeful that she might be accepted as their queen, she found they were loyal to their living Queen Bees.
She soon gave up on her childish dream of being a queen, of one day having several children and being in charge of all those in her hive. Of ruling, and of nurturing. To replace this discarded future, she would begin learning the common language of the land. However, lessons were not free. She needed money to pay for this language. And so, with the skills she learned with her home hive, she began to make honey and sit in towns selling her hard work. It was something humbling to have to sit on the side of a road while seated atop a ratter cloth selling honey in jars of varying sizes. Jars she had found tossed aside, and had cleaned out.
Yet as time passed she would learn the language, begin making more money for her honey by convincing ignorant citizens that honey made by a female Bee was far more valuable than the usual honey. With this ploy she could charge more, such as clothing, cultural foods, and books.
She found comfort in books. This simple collection of paper and words enlightening on lands she had never reached. They told her tales of princesses of other species, of queens. They told her tales of bravery, they taught her about different foods, different poisons, about everything she could dream of.
But soon the dead queen found her collection growing. She was gathering more and more books, too many to keep carrying for long. Her travels were slowing down as she had to stay in one place for longer amounts of time to decide which books she should keep, and which she should sell so she could keep moving.
It would be one day in a Mushroom Kingdom marketplace that Theodocia would hear the rumors of a town with plenty of open living. After looking further into these rumors, she decided that it was perhaps time to settle down. Time to have a place where she would not have to sell her precious books, but rather keep them, collect them, and share them.
And she found such a place in Truffville. A library that had been established, and one she could rule. So into this library she dived and to the owner, a shaman named Merple, she convinced him that she was needed here and that he should give her a job. And so she now resides, her own books safely stored away, and the shelves easier to organize with a woman with wings around.
Librarian Merple:
Likes: Dresses, Honey, Obedience, Reading, Cozy little cubbies, Warmth, Children
Dislikes: Cold weather, Disobedience, Arguing, Queens Bees, Authority above her
Talents:
- Making honey
- Multitasking
- Being bossy
Extras / Misc:
- Theodocia likes to sell warm mugs of honey to library visitors for a little extra cash in her and Merple's pockets.
- It is her dream to one day have 200 children and make a hive of her own.
- Her favored reads are horror mysteries, fantasies, and educational.
- This Skeleton Bee doesn't have to eat, though she enjoys it for the tastes.
- Theodocia is sensitive about her weight. Queen Bees tend to be large and fat, yet her structure is skeletal and hardly tangible. Quite the opposite of her dream Queen Bee figure! She tends to eat a lot to try and fix this, though it never improves.

Wow, was NOT expecting a character made from a monster from Super Mario Land 2!
Even if she wasn't, she would still be cool with that backstory and personality you made for her
