Description Here's the fixed version of [this deviation] . It took me about another half an hour or so to add to it and rescan it in, as well as fixing it on my computer. [Here] is the original rough draft version.

I really like the lettering, it's nicely proportioned without being boxy - very good. I just think the 'I' and the angels on the bottom need work. They look cute, but they also look a bit messy and don't quite fit with the neatness and curves of the lettering.

Thank you muchly. This was actually pretty much a first attempt for using watercolors on the illuminations. Personally, I think it turns out much better when sharpie marker is used, like [here] or [here] , so that'll be what I do more of in the future until I can get the watercolors to work (which'll probably involve taking a class or getting some tips from someone who has used watercolors before.

I agree with what you said about the versal letter and illuminations. I've been trying to work on that a little more (and, consequently, work on the lettering a little less often), though most of it's just doodling in the margins of my physics notes.

Yeah, I see what you mean with using sharpie instead of watercolor. I think a little practice with the watercolor will clear that right up, as well as give you a wide range of shading options. Or you could try pen and ink lettering. I don't know if you use premade calligraphy pens or if you use nibs though, so you may already use pen and ink. It seems from your lettering that you use premade.

Ahh, physics. Thankfully I never had to take it. I mostly doodled in my English notebook because it was always so darn easy.

Oh, I think this is quite successfully done, with beautiful curvatures, well measured letters and a handsome font--congratulations!

I am rather unsure about the 'l's in your typeface and how you deal with double 'l's, for there seems to be a variety of different lengths of them throughout the page; but they are not at all eyesores.

The little angels are very cute as well.

With the double "l"s, the first one comes up lower and loops around the second one in all occurrences. The "ll" in "will" and in the first "calling" are the same height (or pretty close to it). The "ll" in the second "will" is longer because it's on the side of the page (I've seen that it's fairly common to add extra length to ascenders and descenders on the edges of the page when they won't run into other letters ). Though I'll have to admit that the "ll" that loops with the "gg" is a little bit wierd...

Thank you very much!

This is fantastic done, I have fallen in love with this scripture!!! Wonderful callygraphy...the angels are a bit too sweet for me, but I like the idea very much!

Thank you. The angels are a little too sweet, but I was trying to figure out what to do for the illuminations (if I could sucessfully do celtic knot work, I would...), and I guess angels are kind of the default.

Thank you very much! For this piece, it was a modified "bookhand/half-uncial" hybrid.

Thank you muchly!!! And I'm sorry I haven't had time to reply to comments yet... life has been taking over once again, along with the realization and dread that a rumor that has been circling amongst the science majors for quite some time has been confirmed by people of knowledge.

Anyhow, yeah...

rumor? what rumor? something bad? what's up over there? any news??? but yeah I totally understand. Life has got it's grip around my neck too. I'm struggling just to breathe! *rolls eyes*

The (true) rumor that the chemistry students have to take thermo from the physics department next year. For me, it's not too much more than a minor annoyance at this point, though next year, I may regret agreeing to be a chem major.

No, for the most part, everything's going fairly well. At least, as well as it can really be going... thankfully, I haven't lost my tendency to ask questions which should have obvious answers, but it's not always readily apparent. I'm sure it drives some of my professors crazy...

Well, they say there's no such thing as a stupid question....

....................but boy did I prove them wrong! ha!

Well, I like physics........better than chem...........but then I never really studied either very thoroughly. So........I don't really know what to say to the (true) rumor except "hmm." lol.

Mom and Dad come home from their cruise tonight!

Physics is... well... physics. And I have a love-hate relationship with it. For the most part, I actually really enjoy it, though I'd prefer if it had more practical applications (ie, let's try and avoid using the Tarzan example for centripetal motion... please!).

The thing with physics (especially Newtonian physics and motion, etc.) is that it's a very old science with a lot of history. It's pretty easy to observe and even Aristotle made observations about motion and came up with his own ideas about how things worked. Modern chemistry is a little harder to observe and, if I remember correctly (but don't quote me on this), there was a lot of influence of alchemy on early chemistry.

But I prefer chemistry labs. Physics lab is mostly just working with computer simulations and crunching numbers and stuff. In chem labs, we actually get to do stuff (even if it's sitting around for an hour waiting for the water to boil...).

Actually, I think it'll be okay in the end. I mean, I've been through tough classes before and I've been resilient enough to survive thus far.

Okay... usually there's no such thing as a stupid question, but well... there's pretty much always exceptions to the rules!!!

*chuckles* nice tarzan comment. touche'.

yeah, I think you're right. But suffice it to say, science is cool. But you're right, chem labs do sound like fun!

Thank you. It's probably one of the most overused examples in Newtonian physics classes. Though I do say I liked the Helm's Deep problem with Legolas shooting his bow straight up in the air (stupid Elf... when does he learn that is so NOT a good idea?)... I'll have to see if I can find the problem because I think I saved it...

Today was kind of cool because we got to make blue solutions.

HAHAHA! I don't remember him shooting straight up!

One example that is even better is in Western movies, how they're always shooting up into the air. BULLETS COME DOWN JUST AS FAST AS WHEN THEY GO UP!!! AND THEY KILL PEOPLE!!!! *shakes head* ai, ai, ai.......

And guess which song I'm listening to right now!!!

You're welcome.

Which one? I'm listening to "Your Grace is Enough" by Chris Tomlin.

I was listening to "Concerning Hobbitses" when I replied to your comment. Right now I'm listening to a random mix of mostly alternative (etc.) stuff. The current song playing is "Fireproof" by Pillar.

Lord of the Rings? That was just a guess, by the way...

Oh, and I re-submitted it... after I put it up, I felt like there was some stuff to improve with it. Now there's only, like, three or four letters in the entire piece that don't have some sort of embellishments on them...

Yeah. I noticed.
