I hope/wish that the tie-in Spider-Man: Renew your Vows would have an impact (please soon) on Spider-Man... and is it all right to absolutely not like the idea that MJ's going to work for Stark?

Actually... the writer DIDN'T want to write OMD. The editor in chief and present "chief creative officer" had a bee in his butt that the marriage was the reason comics weren't selling...

Well from your response its good at least that it wasn't the writer who came up with the idea. But now everyone hates how it all went down because this guy thought that with their marriage that Spidey's comics weren't selling. Things are not looking up for Marvel nowadays.

Yeah... the writer at the time quit Spider-Man and moved to Thor after that... but in the end, it's likely going to stay gone... Because when you look at the movies and video games that Marvel has sold... Marvel's done GREAT!

The issue with the comic sales that lead to OMD had little to really do with the marriage or even comics at all. It's our culture and media that is changing. Comics were originally something for kids and teens to read for their own entertainment and would be something that they could read if they weren't overly intellectual and preferred scholarly books... and would even be a more "lighthearted escape" for those who do prefer more scholarly material. However, in recent years, more kids and teens have come to support other media, and more electronic media. Movies, TV, video games, blogs, and so on. They're all more readily accessible for them, which works when not every place has a comic shop. As such, kids and teens today aren't as interested in the comics themselves and don't buy them...

It's why Marvel's movies have all done so well. It's why nearly every cartoon that Marvel has produced has done reasonably well. It's electronic media that is more attractive to kids and teens than the actual comics. And in that sense... it probably wouldn't surprise me that in a few years, Marvel and DC will both stop printing comics and simply build on their respective movie/tv universes.

Yeah sad to know that his artistic writing wouldn't be used for Spider-Man anymore when the creative director had him make it. Plus, I hope that comics still go on a bit more, since I have just started reading the storylines in old Marvel before the Incursion and Battleworld arcs. A lot of it was good material, others were something that made me scratch my head and think, "Really Marvel, you actually want to go with this?" Even with the media covering new movies and or shows of Marvel and DC I would stick with comics since they were mainstream of those worlds before people got hooked on the new shows and movies. Though I will agree that a lot of movies and shows have worked out really well. Like with Young Justice, and made me sad and angry that it was canceled, more so since Cartoon Network is going down since it was an amazing show.
