Make sure to zoom. You will only see the finished image if you don't!
For those of us who don't have a program that does gradient fills there is another option for gradient skys.
Picking your palette fill your canvas with your lightest color. (I'm going to be making the lightest color at the top but you don't have to do this.)
Now select the next color. and add some stripes of it across the sky near the top. Dither the colors together a bit if you like.
Add another shade a bit below that and fill in between the two colors with the second lightest color. The add another stripe of your lightest color in between and dither both sides.
Repeat this method with each color. You can play around with where your lines are till you get the look you want. As you can see you don't have to be perfect with it.
