I vaguely, vaguely remember the animated short, and I'm pretty sure that I saw it only once as a child. I don't think I'm liable to say whether this is a worthy adaptation, but I did watch the animated short recently. And it was good. But! This is a movie, and I've accepted that it won't be like the book/animated short, and etc. I still want to watch it-very, very, very much!! And yes, though I haven't watched it, I have stalked enough Once-ler tumblr groups to bleed my eyes out. It's awesooooooooome.

I'm sorry, I just gotta ask this question: WHY DID THEY SHOW HIS FACE?! The Once-Ler was a metaphor for greed and faceless corporations ruining the Earth.

Well- it worked well for the book and the short but for a full-length movie? That would've been very hard to work with. They had to expand his character somehow

It's just... the anonymity added to his character in the book. It made him seem more like anyone reading could see themselves making the mistakes he did. In the movie, he's just kind of a wimp, and the Lorax seems much more antagonistic. It just screws with morality in a way that isn't particularly well done.

Oh, I've seen her video. Though- okay, you made your point. I won't go any further. I do enjoy the movie and I honestly really won't see around it because I have been waiting to see it. It is a new movie with new elements. Truth be told, VERY RARELY does anything really do justice to the original.

I'm not planning on seeing it, it just looks too bright, too colorful, too many attempts to replicate the Minions, not enough time spent on the book stuff, and I personally find it freaky that the Once-Ler is almost identical to Zac Efron. But that's just my opinion. This is a case where we'll have to agree to disagree.

when I think about it, The Once-ler really reminds me of Wheatley from Portal 2. I think the two of them have a lot in common.
