Oh, I don't know, people meet romantic interest online all the time, and it's not like the human soul, or love, has never been able to be conveyed by words right?
So unconventional yes, but it's no stranger really than a pumpkin patch, or buying icecream cones, or any other way the a long term relationship has ever been started I think.

But, on the internet, you're not sure what the age of the other person is. There's a large difference between knowing someone online and knowing someone offline. On the internet you can just sit down and not be out doing something. Offline you have to actually do something to get in a relationship.

Well yeah, but meeting someone online, and getting engaged before you've ever met are two entire different things.
My best friend met his wife at his own house while playing videogames, a friend brought her by uninvited for no particular reason and they hit it off over Qubert, there's no doing less than playing Qubert.
In real life you're not sure what age someone is, just read the tabloids, or look up R. Kelly Scandal, or Kobe Bryant Scandal or.... etc. Never forget that people lie ALMOST as much in real life as they do on online life.
And in my opinion, since you're constantly rubbing up against others, stating opinions, finding things of interest, playing games, keeping in touch with family and friends, I wouldn't call being on the internet the same as doing nothing. I certainly don't consider being here on Deviantart doing nothing. I'm definitely doing something right now

I know. But I have a different feeling when I talk to someone offline. Talking to Hudson over the phone is different than talking to him face to face.
I meant meeting your future spouse at a dance or at school. Not in advertising over newspapers.
Doing stuff on the computer is SOMETHING but not the same thing as offline.

What is this world coming to?
Sure you meet some interesting people online, but a friggen' fiance? Meet the person in real life with a military squad behind you before you bury the hatchet. XD
